Entrepreneurial Spirits

 It’s okay, we carded!

I had assumed/prepared for a single six-foot table, like some craft shows I recall, but the booth Katsucon (graciously!) gave us was much, much bigger! We just spread stuff out and made it work, but not before we kicked around a few other ideas…

“And there has to be a Deadpool in the comic somewhere.”
At least it wasn’t also a time-machine.

Comic cameo shout-outs: Bunny from last week returns, our artsy friend Kizmet (whose work you can check out here!), and three other friends we got to see at the con – Richard, Tiny n Fluffy 🙂

  1. I love how cute the one using their tail for a pillow looks, totally adorable! Always love the art, but with that image this becomes even more amazing. Though I do hope that none of the hottub users are naked, I know some people use them like that.

  2. If anyone would be able to sweet talk her way out of authoritarian prosecution, it would be Mandy.

Seriously, how could you say “NO” to a face like that?
I mean … I’m pretty sure Fox says “NO” to her all the time, but the point remains!

      1. Just because a man says no doesn’t mean the woman will pay any attention to him.

      1. I wish I had seen that comic back when I could comment. I would have agreed with the tagline about Fox. Even I know that if a woman is fishing for a compliment, you give her one, even if you don’t believe it.

  3. Ha! The red coloring for Deadpool is the finishing touch that makes it completely awesome! To quote Ryan Reynolds, “Maximum effort.”

  4. So, is the security guard looking upset because Mandy told him they’re already at capacity and there isn’t any room for him?

  5. Okay, I just have to ask; did anyone actually consider taking the offer of “a boot to the head” for $5?

  6. I can’t read anything but ‘I get’ in the third line of the sign. And I like the ‘boot to the head’ reference.

  7. “Boot to the Head $5.” LOL 🙂

Love Seley’s look in the last panel!
In the second panel it almost looks like Seley has pigtails. Bet that would look great on her. 🙂

  8. Hmmm… Hammerspace, or rent-a-spa? One or the other…
    The world may never know.

  9. Only one deadpool? I specifically remember seeing at least three of those around every corner. I’m also so glad you had the buttons there, I still wear mine!

    1. I counted at least fourteen through the con (didn’t count any that I thought might be repeats though). 🙂

      I’m glad you like it!

  10. Relax, security dawg, if anyone can run a drunk casino and still keep things under control, it’s Fox

  11. Seems to be Blackjack.

That’s a shame. If it was Faro, one of the players could be a Tiger.

      1. The faro game was also called “bucking the tiger” or “twisting the tiger’s tail”, a reference to early card backs that featured a drawing of a Bengal tiger.

        1. Okay. I believe I’d heard of faro a long time ago but I never really got into the game so I didn’t know all the bits of trivia you just revealed. Thanks.

      2. I wondered if anyone else knew, or if it was just gonna sit there, like a hairball on the carpet, and everyone would just tiptoe around it.

If anyone remembers the Kurt Russel Wyatt Earp movie, “Tombstone”, the scene where Earp is sitting at a table with a sawed-off shotgun attached to the bottom – that’s his Faro table.

        1. Okay. I never saw “Tombstone” so I never saw that scene. I’ll have to include it in my Netflix queue to watch. (I like western movies.)

    1. Honestly, only game I know well enough to represent a game in progress. I’m not much of a gambler.

      1. I know what you mean. The only two gambling games I know anything about is poker and blackjack. Other than that, I’m at a loss. (and I mean that literally)

  12. I absolutely LOVE Mandy’s look of complete innocence as she’s talking to the security guy. I can just hear her saying, “But, you didn’t specifically say we COULDN’T put in a hot tub, casino and serve tequila.”

  13. Love deadpool in the comic, but I would spend a good amount of the con at that booth to be honest 🙂

  14. Ooh gosh! I love playing cards. Like! Really. Perfectly captured me lol
I really love the expressions through all of them, too. This is really well thought ! And thank you x3

    1. I’m glad you liked it! Glad you made it to the con to see us too – thanks for coming by! 😀

  15. it took me forever to find the deadpool haha! I love it! I’ve newly found your work. I thoroughly love your style. Those giant tails though! hahaha! What has lead you to the decision to use such giant furry tails?

    1. No real reason, other than “I like ’em.” 😀
Tiny points out that they make excellent pillows though!

Thank you for reading! I’m glad you’re enjoying it 🙂
