Good Influence

My cousin and I are pretty much cut from the same cloth, I tell people she’s basically me if I were musically talented and much cooler. We’ve been seeing more of each other lately, and we’re a terrible influence on each other – basically she’s the best. This one’s for everyone who thinks Fox is the only chaotic one in this marriage – I’m just more subtle about it, most of the time.

(I think we were looking at videos of anodizing metal, never did try that but we had fun concocting a plan anyway)

Coincidentally I did this at an anime convention. I used a car battery. Nothing gets a crowd’s attention like sparking two jumper cables together!

  1. *Quite* pleasing to see that ‘pouches’ was not merely a one-shot; this one calls to mind the ten thousand experiments from my own teen years (nearly disastering the home a few times in the process 8{)} )

  2. I made the mistake of commenting on the ease of making ‘poor man’s Napalm’ in the presence of a woman who a) liked doing new things and b) was disaster prone, if not heavily supervised. And no, I will not provide my particular recipe, as it is can pass for Thermite in a pinch.*

    * Thermite is one of the deadlier(to engine blocks) incendiary munitions out there, because it basically is molten metal once it ignites, and can burn through steel armor plate in seconds, and burns at over 1,000°C. Trained with it in the Corps, and have much respect for it.**

** You can fear dangerous things, or you can respect them. Fear can cause a dangerous response. Respect can cause an intelligent response. You can fear a Mountain lion and run(and get eaten), or you can respect it, get it to move on. I knew a fellow who used a newspaper as a noisemaker, flapping the sheets, running at the cat and shouting ‘Kitty, Kitty, KITTY!’ And ran one off. I know of one guy who fired a few pistols shots to run one off. I also know of joggers who got mauled. Proprio don’t run in woods where predators live. Running=Prey.

    1. And yes, I absolutely love this comic, keep it going.

And if you come to Orlando, FL, look up Smoke and Donuts. We do an awesome Brisket, and Delicious Donuts.
      😊😊😊

  3. I burned-out a 200 amp car battery charger when I was in high school; I was using it to de-rust cast iron cookware via electrolysis; turns out, they don’t like pumping full power 100% of the time; damn “duty cycles”… Anyway, my antique cast iron muffin pan came out a healthy dull grey, ready for seasoning!

  4. When I visited Singapore they used a similar process to plate out gold (or what they claimed as gold) onto small orchid flowers which were made into jewelry.
